Hotel Zelos San Francisco, the luxury property on 4th and Market, just turned one. And to celebrate their one year anniversary, they’re rolling out the red carpet for guests in August. Think daily champagne, deep discounts on high-end packages, and the occasional surprise upgrade.
And as of today, they’re also empowering their guests to do something we all want to do: explore the city in a more authentic, local way. From now on, guests staying at Hotel Zelos will have instant SMS access to local experts — trained to find the quirky and wonderful spots around the city.
Originally built as office spaces in 1907, Hotel Zelos marries larger-than-usual rooms with a provocative, film-noir style. The hotel is also a frequent stomping ground for locals, who have learned that the 5th floor bar, Dirty Habit, is one of the best spots around for patio cocktails on a warm evening.
We caught up with Sietse Nabben, the General Manager at the hotel, to find out a little more about how they intend to use Hello Scout with their guests.
1) Hotel Zelos San Francisco is a timeless San Francisco hotel that’s gone through several changes over the years. What do you want guests to know about the Zelos of today? What makes the Zelos experience so unique?
We have been through many changes over the years as the Hotel Palomar, and we are celebrating our 1st birthday this month as the Hotel Zelos San Francisco. We’ve really come into our own this year and we certainly have found our voice. Hotel Zelos San Francisco, today, is a place where our adventurous, experience-seeking guests can see the city through our eyes. We communicate and serve our guests with a passion and zeal that is infectious.
2) How do you think Hotel Zelos San Francisco guests can benefit from Hello Scout?
Our location on 4th & Market is central to the city, straddling the neighborhoods of SOMA, Union Square, and the Financial District with easy access to BART, and a gateway to quintessential San Francisco experiences and major tourist attractions. The hotel sits just steps from top museums and cultural centers, sports stadiums, music venues, celebrated restaurants, and world-class shopping, as well as the Moscone Convention Center. All of that said, we are excited to partner with Hello Scout to help our guests find the last tickets to tonight’s show or the perfect hidden restaurant down the block so we can continue to deliver exceptional guest service on property. Believe me, if we could handle it all at once, we would! But we don’t have those superpowers…. Yet.
3) What is one experience you recommend to guests visiting downtown San Francisco?
Being that our guests are tech savvy, civically inclined, and culturally attuned, the perfect experience would be a visit to the newly transformed and expanded SFMOMA followed by dinner and drinks at Dirty Habit. Opened to the public on May 14, 2016, the architectural design of the building was inspired by the waters and fog of the San Francisco Bay and offers nearly three times more gallery space than before. After taking in the ultimate art experience at SFMOMA, guests can walk the 2 blocks back to the hotel, through the MC Escher inspired lobby, to the elevators featuring art installations by Julie Coyle, up to the 5th floor to Dirty Habit Restaurant & Bar. Stylish and provocative, Dirty Habit was inspired by “film noir” to create an atmosphere laced with danger and seduction, and an experience that gives people an outlet for that ‘other side’ of their personality.
